Dr. Ryan Wood was born and raised in Wynne, AR. He attended Arkansas State University as undergraduate where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Dr. Wood began his optometric education at Midwestern’s Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ. There he developed special interests in refractive surgery, dry eye disease, and glaucoma management. Dr. Wood’s clinical rotations included private practice eye care in Franklin, TN and Phoenix, AZ. He also spent time with the Dept of Veteran's Affairs in Tulsa, OK and Tallahassee, FL. He started his career in a large, mult-location private practice in Franklin, Tennessee, where he focused on dry eye disease and glaucoma management. Dr. Wood relocated to Little Rock in 2019 as Clinical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers. There he supervised all aspects of the clinical operations and the network of referring doctors. Dr. Wood has lectured to affiliate doctors across the state on advancements in refractive surgery.

Dr. Wood founded Natural State Eyecare in 2021. He prides himself on clinical education and building lifelong relationships with his patients.

INTERESTS

Dr. Wood married his high school sweetheart, Jordan. They have a daughter, Leia, who they welcomed in 2023. They also have a chihuahua named Murphy. In his spare time, Dr. Wood enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid outdoorsman.
